Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of progressive resistance exercise training on hip joint function after internal fixation of intertrochanteric fracture in elderly patients. Methods A total of 98 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture treated in Jiangsu Taizhou People’s Hospital from January 2018 to January 2020 were selected as the research subjects. According to random number table method, they were divided into observation group and control group, with 49 cases in each group. Intertrochanteric fracture internal fixation was performed in both groups. The control group received routine rehabilitation training intervention, and the observation group received progressive resistance exercise training intervention. The operative recovery index, complication rate, Harris hip function score, hip muscle strength and quality of life score were statistically compared between the two groups. Results The time of getting out of bed, hospital stay and fracture healing time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After intervention, the level of hip muscle strength, Harris hip function score and quality of life score in both groups were higher than before, and the observation group was higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of progressive resistance exercise training after internal fixation of senile intertrochanteric fracture can obtain better rehabilitation effect, promote fracture healing, improve hip function, increase joint muscle strength and improve the quality of life of patients, which has high clinical application value.
