Application of aromatic drugs in spleen and stomach diseases

Abstract:Aromatic drugs are the general name of traditional Chinese medicine with aromatic smell, which is closely related to spleen and stomach diseases. This paper expounds the historical origin, characteristics and clinical application of aromatic drugs, the reasons for the extensive use of aromatic drugs in spleen and stomach diseases and the general situation of their application in spleen and stomach diseases, in order to promote the development, research and application of aromatic drugs. Aromatic drugs have the characteristics of dispersing and resolving exterior, eliminating dampness, promoting qi to relieve depression, warming meridian to relieve pain, etc. The main functions of aromatic drugs in the treatment of spleen and stomach diseases are to remove dampness and regulate qi. Examples are given of the commonly used aromatic drug combinations, such as Agastache rugosa, Eupatorium fortunei, Amomum villosum for resolving dampness with aromatics, Bupleurum chinense, Citrus medica, Rosa rugosa for soothing liver and spleen, Amomum villosum, Alpinia katsumadai Hayata, Syzygiumaromaticum for promoting qi and stopping vomiting, Cinnamomum cassia Presl, Alpinia officinarum Hance, Lindera aggregata for warming spleen and yang, etc. This paper summarizes the modern pharmacological mechanism of aromatic drugs.
