Efficacy and prognosis of HEOS system in the treatment of endometrial polyps

Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and prognosis of double hysteroscopic surgery system (HEOS system) in the treatment of endometrial polyps. Methods A total of 35 patients with endometrial polyps treated by HEOS system in the First Affiliated Hospital of University of Science and Technology of China (“our hospital” for short) from January 2018 to June 2020 were selected as the observation group, and 35 patients with endometrial polyps who received traditional hysteroscopic electrosurgical system in our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. The operative time, biochemical indexes before surgery and one day after surgery (after surgery), endometrial recovery and complications on two months after surgery were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group (P < 0.01). There were no statistically significant differences in biochemical indexes between the two groups before and after surgery (P > 0.05). There were no significant differences in menstrual recovery time, vaginal fluid or bleeding time between the two groups (P > 0.05); after 2 months of follow-up, the endometrial thickness of the observation group was greater than that of the control group (P < 0.05). After 2 months of follow-up, no complications such as cervical adhesion occurred in all the patients. Conclusion The clinical effect of HEOS system in the treatment of endometrial polyps is significant, which can reduce the operation time, high safety, and can protect the endometrium of women of childbearing age, which is worthy of clinical application.
