The health education effects of homemade propaganda and popular science videos in parents of epilepsy children

Abstract:Objective To explore the health education effects of homemade propaganda and popular science videos in parents of epilepsy children. Methods From January to November 2016, 881 cases of epilepsy children parents in the Department of Pediatric, Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University were selected as research objects and divided into the control group (435 cases) and the observation group (446 cases) according to the admission time. The control group was given routine health education and the observation group was given homemade propaganda and popular science videos education. The efficacy of health education and the nursing satisfaction of the parients in the two groups were compared. Results The nursing satisfaction in the observation group was higher than that of control group, with statistically significant difference(P < 0.05). The status of knowledge of epilepsy and awareness of anti-epileptic drugs in the observation group were better than those of control group, with statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion The of homemade propaganda and popular science videos in parents of epilepsy children can improve the effects of health education, promote the nursing satisfaction, and it is better than routine health education.
