Abstract：Chinese materia medica has a long history in China. It is a traditional national industry, a rapidly developing emerging industry, and also an important part of China’s unique pharmaceutical economy. After years of efforts, Chinese materia medica has been developing continuously, and various specialties have integrated with each other, forming a discipline of Chinese materia medica with its own characteristics. Meanwhile, a large number of professionals have been trained, but there are still many problems. Through the objective analysis of the overall situation and existing problems of the subject construction, the bottleneck restricting the subject development has been found, and the effective solution has been put forward to promote the subject construction to develop better, so as to provide an effective reference for the scientific objective evaluation of the subject construction.
