Abstract:Objective To understand the current status of nurses’ knowledge and attitudes towards pressure injury (PI) in a medical union in Chongqing, and to analyze their influencing factors to provide references for realizing homogenous care in the medical union. Methods Using convenient cluster sampling, a total of 1582 nurses from 54 hospitals in a medical treatment alliance in Chongqing were selected from December 12 to 25, 2019, and the PI attitude and knowledge scale were used for investigation. Results The score of nurses’ knowledge of PI was (49.53±12.74) points, which was lower than the middle level; the score of attitude was (3.10±0.30) points, which was higher than the middle level. There were statistically significant differences in the scores of nurses’ PI prevention knowledge and attitude among different hospital levels, titles, education backgrounds, years of service, position/role and nursing PI patients (P < 0.05). The results of multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that whether PI patients have been nursed, professional title, and hospital grade were the influencing factors of PI nursing knowledge and attitude (P < 0.05). Conclusion The knowledge of nurses on PI needs to be improved, especially in grassroots hospitals. Managers should integrate medical resources, help grassroots, and achieve homogeneous care.
