Abstract:Objective To study the correlation between the levels of serum free thyroxine (FT4) and total thyroxine (TT4) and the intervention effect of microwave ablation on benign thyroid nodules. Methods Retrospective analysis was performed on 80 patients with benign thyroid nodules who underwent microwave ablation intervention in the Affiliated Huai′an No.1 People′s Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from October 2015 to October 2018. All patients were followed up for one year after treatment, and they were divided into observation group (nodule reduction rate ≥50%, 63 cases) and control group (nodule reduction rate < 50%, 17 cases) according to the nodule reduction rate. The influencing factors of microwave ablation for benign thyroid nodules were analyzed. Results Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), FT4 and TT4 were independent influencing factors for the intervention effect of microwave ablation on benign thyroid nodules (P < 0.05). Conclusion Serum TSH, FT4 and TT4 are independent factors of the therapeutic effect of microwave ablation for benign thyroid nodules.
