Abstract:Chinese herbal medicines are the material basis for the inheritance and development of Chinese traditional medicine, and are strategic resources related to the national economy and the people′s livelihood. Chinese herbal medicines are widely planted in poverty-stricken areas in China, and the cultivation of Chinese herbal medicines is one of the important sources of income for the poor rural population in China. This paper analyzes the characteristics and application status of high-resolution satellite remote sensing technology, discusses the ideas and methods of applying remote sensing technology to the poverty alleviation of Chinese herbal medicines industry. The sources of dried tangerine peel of Jiangxi Province in Nanfeng County and the estimation of the planting area of Citrus reticulata Blanco′ Kinokuni′ are taken as cases to reflect the advantages of remote sensing technology in accurately obtaining the distribution information of Chinese herbal medicines and estimating the planting area, which provides a prerequisite for the digital monitoring of poverty alleviation of Chinese herbal medicines industry in the future and provides a reference for the intelligentization of rational distribution of Chinese herbal medicines.
