Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of heat shock protein 27 (HSP27) in maternal and fetal serum and placental of patients with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP). Methods Ninety pregnant women with gestational hypertension delivered in Xuzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital in Jiangsu Province from June 2018 to June 2019 were selected (including 30 cases of gestational hypertension group, 30 cases of non severe preeclampsia group and 30 cases of severe preeclampsia group). Another 30 healthy pregnant women were selected as control group. The levels of HSP27 in venous blood and cord blood of pregnant women were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, and the expressions of HSP27 mRNA and protein in placenta were detected by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. Results The levels of HSP27 in venous blood and cord blood of pregnant women in control group, gestational hypertension group, preeclampsia (non severe) group and severe preeclampsia group showed an increasing trend, and the differences among all groups were highly statistically significant (P < 0.01). The expression of HSP27 mRNA in placental tissues of control group, pregnancy induced hypertension group, preeclampsia (non severe) group and severe preeclampsia group showed an increasing trend, and the differences among all groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The expression of HSP27 protein in placental tissues of control group, pregnancy induced hypertension group, preeclampsia (non severe) group and severe preeclampsia group showed an increasing trend, and the differences among all groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion HSP27 is highly expressed in venous blood, umbilical blood and placental of pregnant women with HDP, and the expression of HSP27 is correlated with the severity of HDP, suggesting that HSP27 may play a role in the development of HDP.
