Abstract:Ménière disease belongs to the category of “otogenic vertigo” in traditional Chinese medicine. It is a common type of peripheral vertigo in clinical practice. Professor He Weiping combined with clinical experience to discuss from the perspective of the spleen and stomach. All diseases are caused by the weakness of spleen and stomach. Dysfunction of spleen and stomach, lost source of blood and qi, and dereliction of rise and fall duty are the main causes and pathogenesis of Ménière disease. It is suggested that Ménière disease should be treated by conditioning the spleen and stomach. In the acute phase, the principle of treatment is to strengthen the spleen and stomach, unblock stuffy orifice and to relieve dazzle, while in the intermittent phase, the method is to take care of the spleen, stomach and restore the balance of viscera, yin and yang. Sijunzi Decoction, Fuzi Lizhong Decoction, Buzhong Yiqi Decoction, Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction, Linggui Zhugan Decontion are selected according to syndrome types such as weakness of the spleen and stomach, deficient cold of spleen and stomach, lack of qingyang, wind-phlegm disturbing upward, and deficiency of zhongyang. In order to regulate the spleen and stomach, it will also take into account the integrity of the internal and external environment of the body, and focus on guiding patients to adjust their eating habits, regulate their emotions and moderate work and rest, etc. The clinical effect is remarkable and with one case as an example. It hopes to provide some experience and reference to for the treatment of Ménière disease.
