Abstract:Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Butylphthalide combined with carotid artery stenting in the treatment of ocular ischemia syndrome (OIS). Methods A total of 106 OIS patients who admitted to Handan Central Hospital, Hebei Province from November 2017 to January 2018 were included in the study. They were divided into the conventional group (53 cases) and the Butylphthalide group (53 cases) according to random number table method. Patients in both groups were treated with carotid artery stenting, the conventional group received perioperative conventional treatment, and the Butylphthalide group was treated with Butylphthalide on the basis of the conventional group treatment. Postoperative 20 d, the changes of visual acuity level, hemodynamic indexs of central retinal artery (CRA) (systolic peak velocity [SPV], end diastolic peak velocity [EDV], resistance index [RI]), cervical lesions arterial blood flow mechanics index (SPV, EDV) and the US national institutes of health stroke scale (NIHSS) in the two groups were observed. Results Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in the visual acuity between the two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the visual acuity level of both groups was improved compared with that before treatment, and the Butylphthalide group was superior to the conventional group, with statistically significant differences (all P < 0.05). After treatment, SPV and EDV of ocular CRA in both groups were increased compared with those before treatment, while RI was decreased. SPV and EDV in the Butylphthalide group were higher than those in the conventional group, while RI was lower than that in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). After treatment, SPV, EDV and NIHSS of patients in the two groups were all lower than those before treatment, and Butylphthalide group was lower than the conventional group, with statistically significant differences (all P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of Butylphthalide in carotid artery stenting can effectively improve postoperative visual acuity level of patients and improve the hemodynamic indexs of central retinal artery and cervical artery of patients.
