Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Lianshao Enema Agent retention enema in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). Methods A total of 40 cases of mild and moderate UC patients from January 2013 to December 2014 in the Department of Proctology, Guang′anmen Hospital were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 20 cases in each group. However, one patient in the treatment group showed obvious rectal stimulation symptoms after enema and withdrew automatically, so 19 cases were included in the treatment group. Both groups took Mesalazine Enteric-coated Tablets orally for 1 g, 3 times/d. In the treatment group, the retention enema was added with the Lianshao Enema Agent, once a night, once a day. The treatment course was 3 weeks. Clinical efficacy, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score and traditional Chinese medicine symptom score before and after treatment were observed. Results The effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05). There was no significant difference in traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores between the two groups before treatment (P ＞ 0.05). After treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the treatment group was lower than the control group, with statistically significant differences (all P ＜ 0.05). There was no significant difference in traditional Chinese medicine symptom score between the two groups before treatment (P ＞ 0.05). After treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the scores of mucus blood stools, abdominal pain, tenesmus and anal burning symptoms in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (all P ＜ 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in diarrhea symptom scores between the two groups after treatment (P ＞ 0.05). Conclusion Lianshao Enema Agent retention enema for the treatment of mild to moderate UC is effective, especially in the improvement of clinical symptoms, the efficacy is significant, and easy to use, it is worthy of promotion and application.
