Abstract：Ideological and political education plays an extremely important role in the cultivation of college talents. This paper analyzes the value and significance of traditional Chinese medicine thought in the ideological and political education of college students in the new era, taps into the essence of China′s excellent traditional culture, starting from the concepts of “holistic view”, “treatment based on syndrome differentiation”, “great medical sincerity” and “prevention of disease” in traditional Chinese medicine thoughts, directes against the dilemma of ideological and political education for college students in the new era, and provides guidance in theory and practice from three dimensions: the content of education, the educator, and the mode of education. It has a certain reference significance for improving the effectiveness of ideological and political education for college students in the new era. At the same time, it shows the historical significance and value of traditional culture.
