Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical application effect of acupuncture combined with pricking and cupping in the treatment of wind-heat type peripheral facial paralysis. Methods Two hundred patients with wind-heat type peripheral facial paralysis admitted to the out-patient and in-patient treatment of Sanhe City Hospital and Yanda Hospital in Hebei Province from April 2017 to December 2018 were selected as subjects. According to different treatment methods, they were divided into two groups. One hundred patients in the observation group were treated with acupuncture combined with pricking and cupping, while 100 patients in the control group were treated with conventional western medicine. In both groups, 10 days was one course of treatment, with a total of 2 courses of treatment. The facial nerve function of the patients was evaluated with the score table of the treatment of peripheral facial neuritis (Portmann scale), and the time consumption of the improvement of facial paralysis was recorded. Clinical efficacy, recurrence rate and clinical efficacy satisfaction were compared. Results The treatment time of facial paralysis in the observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group, while the Portmann score was significantly higher than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P < 0.05). The recurrence rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the effective rate was significantly higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). The satisfaction of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture combined with pricking and cupping to treat wind-heat type peripheral facial paralysis is simple, effective and safe, which can be popularized in clinic.
