Abstract:Myocardium may have metabolic dysfunction due to relative or absolute ischemia, which may lead to functional or structural damage in severe cases. Under certain conditions, restoring myocardial blood reperfusion is an effective treatment, but reperfusion can cause new myocardial injury, namely myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury (MIRI). How to treat and prevent MIRI has become a major issue in cardiovascular diseases. This article will summarize the previous literature, and elaborate the related mechanism of MIRI and the progress of drug treatment.
