Abstract:Metabolomics is one kind of "Omics" with rapid development in recent years. Its advantages lie in high sensitivity, high accuracy and low cost. Metabolomics have broad prospects for development and the application of discipline spans biotechnology and pharmaceutical technology. Cellular senescence is a process characterized by the irreversible loss of cell growth and proliferation. Metabolomics can dynamically monitor the changes of the metabolites in the body following cellular senescence,and it makes metabonomics being of great significance in senescence research. This review introduces the progress of metabonomics in senescence research which deepened people′s understanding of the process of cellular senescence and provides new research methods and ideas for the study of senescence mechanism and senescence related diseases.
