Abstract:Inflammation is a defense response that dangerous stimuli induce in the body. Nucleotide binding oligomerization domain-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is one of the hot spots in medical research field in recent years. The activated NLRP3 inflammatory corpuscle can regulate the inflammatory response by controlling the maturation and secretion of the downstream related inflammatory cytokines. In this paper, the structure, activation and regulation mechanism of NLRP3 inflammasome, the role of downstream related cytokines and diseases related to interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) are reviewed in order to provide references for future studies in this field.
