Abstract：Objective To study the clinical efficacy of self-made Shegan Mahuang Decoction in treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis. Methods A total of 93 patients with acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis admitted in Yixing People′s Hospital from January 2016 to December 2017 were selected as subjects， and they were divided into control group and treatment group by random number table method, with 46 cases in the control group and 47 cases in the treatment group. The control group was treated with conventional treatment， the treatment group was treated with self-made Shegan Mahuang Decoction on basis of the treatment in the control group. The two groups were treated for 10 days. Hospitalization time, wheezing, cough and expectoration relieving time were compared between the two groups. Clinical efficacy, levels of blood oxygen saturation （SpO2）, arterial oxygen partial pressure （PaO2）, arterial carbondioxide partial pressure （PaCO2）, serum interleukin-8 （IL-8）, high-sensitivity c-reactive protein （hs-CRP）, tumor necrosis factor alpha （TNF-α）, interferon-gamma （IFN-γ） were compared between the two groups. Adverse reactions were recorded and compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group and the difference was statistically significant （P ＜ 0.05）. The hospitalization time, wheezing, cough and expectoration relieving time in the treatment group were significantly shorter than those in the control group, the difference was highly statistically significant （P ＜ 0.01）. After treatment， the levels of SpO2 and PaO2 in the two groups were significantly higher than those before treatment （P ＜ 0.05）, and the indices in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group （P ＜ 0.01）. Levels of PaCO2, serum IL-8, hs-CRP, TNF-α, IFN-γ were lower than those before treatment significantly （P ＜ 0.05）, and those in the treatment group were lower than the control group （P ＜ 0.01）. The adverse reaction rate of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group （P ＜ 0.05）. Conclusion Self-made Shegan Mahuang Decoction in treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis has good efficacy, which can shorten the treatment time obviously， reduce inflammation and improve respiratory tract ventilation function, and it has good safety.
