Abstract:Rutaecarpine is one of the main active components of Chinese medicine Evodia rutaecarpa. It has extensive physiological and pharmacological effect, including positive inotropic and cardioprotective effect, and can vasorelaxant and reduce blood pressure. It can protect gastric mucosa and has therapeutic effect on ulcerative colitis. In addition, rutaecarpine also has antidepressant, anti-obesity, anti-tumor effect, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, etc. With further study of rutaecarpine by domestic and foreign scholars in recent years, this article reviews the research progress of its pharmacological effect, and aims at providing preference for reasonable exploitation in future.
