Analysis of 308 cases of adverse drug reactions in a third-grade class-A hospital

Abstract:Objective To analyze the regularity and characteristics of adverse drug reactions (ADR) in the Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College ("our hospital" for short), in order to promote clinical rational drug use and make sure patients′medication safety. Methods From January to December 2016, 308 cases of ADR reports in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively. Results Of 308 ADR cases, males (54.55%) showed higher proportion than females (45.45%). ADR of patients aged >40-60 were the most, accounted for 43.51%. The type of the most was "general ADR", accounted for 52.92%. Most of ADR cases were induced by anti-infective agents, accounted for 30.21%. ADR cases most easily induced by injection, accounted for 77.78%. Lesions of skin and its appendants were the most common clinical manifestations of ADR, accounted for 36.94%. A total of 98.7% patients were improvement and recovery after ADR occurred. Conclusion Clinical attention should be paid to the monitor and report of ADR, improve the ability to detect and dispose of ADR, minimize and avoid its occurrence.
