Abstract：Objective To explore clinical effect of Auricular Point Pressing Pills in the treatment of respiratory tract infection in children. Methods Eighty-two children with respiratory tract infection treated in Tianchang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Anhui Province from March 2016 to December 2021 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method, with 41 cases in each group. The control group was treated with acupoint application, and the observation group was treated with Auricular Point Pressing Pills on the basis of the control group. Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, clinical efficacy, serum inflammation and immunological indicators, and adverse reactions between two groups were compared. Results Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in the main syndrome score and secondary syndrome score of traditional Chinese medicine between two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment, the main syndrome score and secondary syndrome score of traditional Chinese medicine in two groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in observation group were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). Clinical efficacy of observation group was better than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in the levels of hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and immunoglobulin A (IgA) between two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment, the levels of hs-CRP in two groups were lower than those before treatment, the levels of IgA in two groups were higher than those before treatment, the level of hs-CRP in observation group was lower than that in control group, and the level of IgA in observation group was higher than that in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence rate of adverse reactions between two groups (P＞0.05). Conclusion Acupoint application combined with Auricular Point Pressing Pills has superior curative effect and good safety in the treatment of children with respiratory tract infection.
