Methods A total of 80 patients with gastric gastroesophageal reflux disease with syndrome of gallbladder heat invading stomach admitted to Dezhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Shandong Province from August 2021 to February 2023 were selected and divided into control group and treatment group according to random number method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was given Rabeprazole orally, and the treatment group was given Huangdi Neizhen Method acupuncture and Sini Yulian Zheshi Decoction orally on the basis of the control group. The course of treatment in both groups was eight weeks. The traditional Chinese medicine efficacy, and the changes of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score, gastrin, motilin, interleukin (IL)-6, IL-17 levels in serum before and after treatment were observed. The patients were follow-up for three months after treatment, and the recurrence rate was observed, and the status of esophageal mucosal inflammation was evaluated under endoscopy. Results The traditional Chinese medicine efficacy of the treatment group was better than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and those of treatment group were lower than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, serum gastrin and motilin in two groups were higher than those before treatment, IL-6 and IL-7 were lower than those before treatment, and serum gastrin and motilin in treatment group were higher than those of control group, and IL-6 and IL-7 were lower than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). In the control group and the treatment group, five and four patients did not complete the follow-up, and six and eight patients did not receive endoscopy, respectively. The recurrence rate of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). At three months after treatment, the scores of esophageal mucosa inflammation in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and those of treatment group were lower than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Huangdi Neizhen Method combined with Sini Yulian Zheshi Decoction oral administration can improve the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, increase gastrointestinal motility, reduce inflammation, reduce recurrence, and other effects.
