Abstract:Objective To explore application effect of individualized diet intervention program in elderly patients with dysphagia after stroke. Methods A total of 100 elderly stroke patients with dysphagia who were hospitalized in the Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital Group Suqian Hospital, from November 2021 to July 2022 were selected as the study objects, according to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and experimental group, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was given routine diet nursing, and the experimental group was given individualized dietary intervention program. The frequency of symptoms related to the swallowing safety and swallowing of ficacy during three meals a day was compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of coughing, abnormal pronunciation, and decrease of blood oxygen saturation of more than 3% in experimental group was lower than that in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of oral food residue and fluid outflow in experimental group was lower than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Individualized dietary intervention program can improve the clinical symptoms of swallowing disorder in elderly stroke patients, effectively reduce the incidence of aspiration, oral food residue, and fluid outflow, and improve the swallowing safety and swallowing efficacy in patients.
