Abstract:Post-stroke aphasia is one of the most common complications of stroke, and one of the causes of long-term deficits in speech disorders, which seriously affects patients’ quality of daily life. At present, it is mainly treated with speech rehabilitation therapy combined with conventional western medicine treatment in stroke medicine, which the clinical efficacy varies greatly among individuals. Through years of clinical observation and practice, Professor Chang Jingling concluded that post-stroke aphasia should be treated with “brain-kidney-marrow” as the main line of syndrome differentiation and treatment, and overall syndrome differentiation and treatment of pathological factors such as wind, fire, and phlegm. The theory is based on strengthening vital qi and dispersing blood stasis. The syndrome differentiation adopts the methods of clearing heat and promoting blood circulation, soothing the liver and extinguishing wind, resolving phlegm and unblocking collaterals, awakening the spirit and opening the body, and treating both the tip and root, combining tonifying and supplementing, demonstrating the dialectical thinking advantages of “integration of body and spirit” for traditional Chinese medicine.
