Abstract:Objective To analyze the risk factors of venous thrombosis after peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) in critically ill children. Methods A total of 240 critically ill children with PICC admitted to Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from January to June 2022 were selected as the study objects. According to the formation of venous thrombosis after PICC, the children were divided into thrombus group and non-thrombus group. The general and clinical data of the critically ill children were analyzed, and the risk factors of venous thrombosis after PICC in critically ill children were analyzed. Results Venous thrombosis was formed after PICC in 24 cases of critically ill children, the incidence was 10%. There were significant differences in age, type of catheterization, D-dimer, and fibrinogen (FIB) levels between two groups (P<0.05). Age (OR=0.755), D-dimer (OR=9.490), and FIB (OR=4.106) were the influencing factors of venous thrombosis after PICC in critically ill children (P<0.05). Conclusion Age, D-dimer, and FIB levels are the influencing factors of venous thrombosis in critically ill children after PICC, which can provide scientific reference for follow-up clinical monitoring, prevention of thrombosis and intervention treatment.
