Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of umbilical acupuncture assisted treatment in moderate to severe hyperplasia of mammary gland with syndrome of liver depression and qi stagnation. Methods Eighty patients with moderate to severe hyperplasia of mammary gland with syndrome of liver depression and qi stagnation amitted to Nanchang Hongdu Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from October 2020 to October 2022 were selected as the study objects, and they were divided into control group and observation group by random drawing method, with 40 cases in each group. Control group was treated with Chaihu Shugan Decoction, observation group was treated with Chaihu Shugan Decoction combined with umbilical acupuncture, both groups were treated for three months. The clinical efficacy and treatment safety of the two groups were evaluated, and the main traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, pain degree scores, sex hormone levels, and inflammatory factors levels were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results The clinical effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of distending pain of breasts, hypochondriac distension, dysphoria, and irritability, red tongue and white fur, and visual analogue scale in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and those of observation group were lower than those of control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of estradiol (E2), prolactin (PRL), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), bradykinin (BK), and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) were higher than those before treatment, and the serum levels of E2, PRL, PGE2, BK, and bFGF of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the serum levels of LH were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Umbilical acupuncture assisted treatment in moderate to severe hyperplasia of mammary gland with syndrome of liver depression and qi stagnation has good effect, can improve the main traditional Chinese medicine syndromes of patients, adjust the level of sex hormones in the body, reduce the level of inflammatory factors, and has good safety.
