Abstract:Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common cause of progressive cognitive dysfunction in the elderly. In recent years, Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii has become a research hotspot at home and abroad because of its unique advantages. At present, the mechanism of Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii improving cognition has not been thoroughly studied, and it may act on multiple targets simultaneously, thereby protecting neurons, improving synaptic remodeling, regulating central cholinergic system, inhibiting neuroinflammation, reducing oxidative stress, and improving intestinal microecosystem. In order to provide reference for clinical and experimental studies, this paper systematically summarizes the mechanism of action of Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii in preventing and treating AD in recent years.
