Analysis of global research status and trends in septic liver injury based on VOSviewer and CiteSpace

Abstract:Objective To explore the global research current status and trends on septic liver injury. Methods The literature on septic liver injury research from January 2012 to November 2022 was searched through Web of Science core collection database, and then bibliometrics and visual analysis of countries, institutions, authors, journals, keywords, and relevant citations was performed using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and other software. Results A total of 1 152 articles were included, and the number of publications was increasing. China had the most publications, but USA had the most international collaborations. Research institutions were mainly universities, and Pittsburgh University had the most international collaborations. Professor Bauer M had the highest number of publications and frequent international communication. Shock had the most publications. Co-citation analysis of the literature showed that the two papers with centrality ≥0.1 were published by Yan J and Pavel S. Keyword analysis showed that research can form 13 clusters, with pathophysiology, metabolism, and signaling pathways being the hot spots and trends in future. Conclusion This study uses visualization software to understand the current status and development trend of research in septic liver injury, which provides ideas and directions for future research.
