Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of individualized nutrition intervention and dietary guidance based on scored patient-generated subjective global assessment (PG-SGA) in patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes. Methods A total of 80 patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes were selected from Bozhou People’s Hospital in Anhui Province from January 2020 to November 2021 for this study. They were divided into observation group and control group according to random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received routine intervention, and the observation group received individualized nutrition intervention and dietary guidance based on PG-SGA. The intervention lasted for three months. The score of healthy eating behavior, fasting blood glucose (FBG), 2 h postprandial blood glucose (2hPG), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and the compliance of patients with dietary behavior were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results After intervention, the scores of healthy eating behavior in both groups were lower than those before intervention, and the score of healthy eating behavior in observation group was higher than that in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After intervention, FBG, 2hPG, and HbA1c in both groups were lower than those before intervention, while FBG, 2hPG, and HbA1c in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The total compliance rate of dietary behavior in observation group was higher than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Individualized nutrition intervention and dietary guidance based on PG-SGA have obvious effects in the intervention of patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes, and are worthy of clinical promotion.
