Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation of retinal arteriolar-to-venular diameter ratios (AVR) with the severity of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and pregnancy outcome. Methods A total of 150 patients with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy admitted to Anhui Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Anhui Province from January 2020 to January 2022 were selected as research object. According to the severity of disease, the patients were divided into gestational hypertension group (53 cases), mild preeclampsia group (50 cases), and severe preeclampsia group (47 cases); retinal AVR was compared among three groups, and the relationship between retinal AVR and the severity of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy was analyzed. According to the pregnancy outcome, the patients were divided into good pregnancy outcome group (118 cases) and bad pregnancy outcome group (32 cases); the influencing factors of adverse pregnancy outcomes in patients with hypertensive diseases of pregnancy was analyzed. Results Retinal AVR in severe preeclampsia group was lower than that in mild preeclampsia group and gestational hypertension group; retinal AVR in mild preeclampsia group was lower than that in gestational hypertension group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Retinal AVR was negatively correlated with the severity of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy(r=-0.783, P<0.05). There were significant differences in 24 h urinary protein, neutrophil count, placental growth factor, and the proportion of retinal AVR<2/3 between good pregnancy outcome group and bad pregnancy outcome group (P<0.05). 24 h urinary protein (OR=1.046), neutrophil count (OR=1.473), and retinal AVR <2/3(OR=7.272) were the risk factors for bad pregnancy outcomes in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (P<0.05). Conclusion Retinal AVR is associated with the severity of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and bad pregnancy outcomes.
