Application effect of IMB model combined with Teach-back health education in patients with coronary heart disease after percutaneous coronary intervention

Abstract:Objective To observe the application effect of IMB model combined with Teach-back health education in patients with coronary heart disease after percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods Sixty patients with coronary heart disease who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention in Fuyang People’s Hospital, Anhui Province from April 2019 to December 2020 were selected as the study objects. The patients were divided into control group and study group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received conventional and Teach-back health education, while the research group received IMB model health education based on the control group. After three months of intervention, the medical compliance of the two groups after intervention was compared, and the health knowledge cognition status and quality of life of the two groups before and after intervention were analyzed. Results The compliance of the study group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); after intervention, the scores of disease inducement, first aid treatment, intervention drugs, matters needing attention after surgery, complications, exercise management, and diet management in two groups were higher than before intervention, and those in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05); after intervention, angina attack degree, disease cognition degree, physical restriction degree, angina stability, and treatment satisfaction score of the two groups were higher than before intervention, and those in the study group were higher than those the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of Teach-back combined with IMB model intervention in patients with coronary heart disease after percutaneous coronary intervention can significantly improve their compliance and health knowledge, as well as improve their quality of life, which is worthy of promotion and application.
