Abstract:Mast cells (MCs) are immune cells in human tissues, and obesity is one of the risk factors for knee osteoarthritis (KOA). MCs have important physiological and pathological effects in adipose tissue, and the two influence each other and play an important role in the progression of KOA in obese patients. In this paper, the activation of MCs, the obesity-induced inflammatory factors of KOA, the role of MCs in obese tissue, the influence of MCs-related mediators on KOA in obese patients, and the signaling pathways related to KOA in obese patients are summarized and analyzed, and the role of MCs in KOA in obese patients is summarized, in order to provide new ideas for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of KOA in obese patients, it may help in the search for prevention targets and therapeutic drug targets.
