Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention based on Roy’s adaptation theory on blood glucose control, treatment compliance, and quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who received intensive insulin pump therapy. Methods A total of 300 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus admitted to Nanjing First Hospital from January 2021 to February 2022 were selected and divided into observation group and control group according to random number table method, with 150 cases in each group. During intensive treatment with insulin pump, the control group was received routine nursing, while the observation group was combined with nursing intervention based on Roy’s adaptation theory on the basis of routine nursing, all intervention for four weeks. Treatment compliance, blood glucose control, and quality of life before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, fasting plasma glucose, two-hours postprandial blood glucose in two groups were lower than those before intervention, and those of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The treatment compliance of the observation group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After intervention, the satisfaction, impact, worry Ⅰ, worry Ⅱ scores, and diabetic quality of life scores of the two groups were lower than those before intervention, and those of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Nursing intervention based on Roy’s adaptation theory can help type 2 diabetes mellitus patients adapt to insulin pump faster, strengthen blood sugar control effect, improve treatment compliance and quality of life.
