Clinical effect of Kaiqiao Xinshen Acupuncture Method in the treatment of post-stroke motor aphasia

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of Kaiqiao Xinshen Acupuncture Method in the treatment of post-stroke motor aphasia (PSMA). Methods A total of 80 patients with PSMA admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to June 2022 were selected and divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received routine speech rehabilitation training and transcranial direct current stimulation treatment, and the observation group received Kaiqiao Xinshen Acupuncture Method on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for six weeks. The clinical efficacy were compared, and the scores of China Rehabilitation Research Center Chinese standard aphasia examination (CRRCAE), National Institutes of Health stroke scale (NIHSS), and the stroke and aphasia quality of life scale-39 (SAQOL-39) before and after treatment were compared between the two groups, and the safety was also observed. Results The clinical efficacy of the observation group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, spontaneous speech, listening comprehension, retelling, naming, aphasia quotient scores of CRRCAE, and SAQOL-39 scores in both groups were higher than those before treatment, and the NIHSS scores of the both groups were lower than those before the treatment, and the CRRCAE scores and SAQOL-39 scores of the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the NIHSS scores were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no obvious adverse reactions during the treatment in both groups. Conclusion The treatment of PSMA with Kaiqiao Xinshen Acupuncture Method has a remarkable effect, which can effectively improve the aphasia symptoms and quality of life of patients.
