Abstract:Objective To investigate the predictive value of carotid plaque superb micro- vascular imaging (SMI) combined with carotid color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) hemodynamic parameters in progressive ischemic stroke (PIS). Methods A total of 147 patients with acute ischemic stroke admitted to Anqing First People’s Hospital, Anhui Province from January 2020 to March 2022 were selected and they were divided into PIS group (40 cases) and non-PIS group (107 cases) according to the change of National Institutes of Health stroke scale score within seven days of hospitalization. Relevant clinical data and laboratory test indicators were collected, and the influencing factors of PIS in patients were analyzed. Receiver operating characteristic curve was used to evaluate the predictive value of carotid plaque SMI combined with carotid CDFI hemodynamic parameters in PIS. Results They were statistically significant in diabetes history, SMI grade, fibrinogen, resistance index (RI), peak systolic velocity (PSV), and end-diastolic velocity (EDV) between two groups (P<0.05). Diabetes history, SMI grade 2, RI, PSV, and EDV were the influencing factors of PIS (P<0.05). The area under the curve of carotid plaque SMI combined with carotid CDFI hemodynamic parameters for predicting PIS was higher than that of each index alone (P<0.05). Conclusion Carotid plaque SMI combined with carotid CDFI hemodynamic parameters has a high predictive value in PIS.
