Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of TeamSTEPPS-based management model on safety attitude of nursing staff in operation rooms. Methods Forty-four operating room nursing staff in the Ninth People’s Hospital of Suzhou, Jiansu Province were selected as the research subjects. Implement routine safety training from January to June 2021 (before management), TeamSTEPPS was be applied for safety management on the basis of routine safety training from July to December 2021 (after management). The Chinese version of safety attitudes questionnaire (SAQ), and the reporting of adverse events scale (RoCAES) were used to assess the safety, and adverse event reporting attitudes of nursing staff in operation rooms before and after management, and the nursing quality and the incidence of adverse events were compared before and after management. Results After management, SAQ scores of operating room staff was higher than those before management (P<0.05). After management, the latitude scores in RoCAES was higher than those before management (P<0.05). The nursing quality score after management was higher than that before management (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse events after management was lower than that before management (P<0.05). Conclusion The management mode based on TeamSTEPPS can improve the safety attitude and adverse event reporting attitude of operating room staff, improve the quality of care and effectively avoid nursing risk events.
