Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between vitamin A and E levels and pregnancy outcomes in patients with gestational hypertension. Methods A total of 82 patients with gestational hypertension admitted to Suzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Jiangsu Province (“our hospital” for short) from March 2018 to April 2021 were selected as research group, in addition, 49 healthy pregnant women who underwent routine physical examination during the same period in our hospital were selected as control group. The serum vitamin A and E levels of control group and research group were compared; the research group was divided into poor pregnancy outcome group and good pregnancy outcome group according to pregnancy outcomes, the factors affecting pregnancy outcome were analyzed. The predictive value was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic curve. Results Serum vitamin A, E levels in research group were lower than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI), disease severity, 24 h urinary protein quantity, blood uric acid, interleukin-6, serum vitamin A, and serum vitamin E between poor pregnancy outcome group and good pregnancy outcome group (P<0.05). Pre-pregnancy BMI, disease severity, 24 h urinary protein quantity, serum vitamin A, and serum vitamin E were the influencing factors of adverse pregnancy outcome in pregnancy-induced hypertension patients (P<0.05). The areas under the curve of serum vitamin A, E single and combined forecast were 0.734, 0.702, and 0.748, respectively. Conclusion Vitamin A and E levels are of great value in predicting adverse pregnancy outcomes in patients with gestational hypertension.
