Research progress of targeted diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer based on exosomal miRNA

Abstract：MiRNA derived from circulating exosome regulate the development of colorectal cancer from both cell metabolism and tumor microenvironment aspects. In addition, exosomal miRNA has the potential to reflect the staging, therapeutic efficacy, chemotherapy resistance and recurrence risks of colorectal cancer. Based on its biological characteristics, we systematically reviewed that exosomal miRNA work as biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of colorectal cancer, which were reported in related research, and we also summarized the mechanisms related to targeted treatment of colorectal cancer based on exsomal miRNA, in order to provide a theoretical basis for exosomal miRNA functioning as core biological markers and innovative therapeutic targets for colorectal cancer.
