Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of multiple scales evaluation on the functional of elderly patients with chronic diseases. Methods A total of 100 elderly patients with chronic diseases admitted to the Geriatric Department of Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital from January 2018 to January 2021 were selected as the research objects. Random number table method was adopted to divide them into study group and control group, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was given nursing care under the assessment of quality of life questionnaire-core 30 (QLQ-C30), while the study group was given nursing care based on the assessment of nutritional risk scale (NRS2002), and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI). At admission and one month after admission, QLQ-C30 scale, nutritional status, and immune function were used to evaluate the patients. Results After intervention, the scores of physical function, role function, social function, cognitive function, emotional function, and overall quality of life in the study group were higher than those before intervention, and higher than those in the control group; the scores of burnout, nausea and vomiting, pain, dyspnea, insomnia, loss of appetite, constipation, and diarrhea were lower than those before intervention, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After intervention, the body mass index, albumin, and total protein levels in the study group were higher than before intervention, and higher than those in the control group, with statistical significances (P<0.05). After intervention, the levels of immunoglobulin (Ig)G, IgM, and IgA in both groups were higher than before intervention, while those of the study group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Intervention after the multi-scale assessment can enhance immune function and nutritional status of patients with chronic diseases in geriatrics department, and maintain good quality of life in later life.
