Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of pestle needle therapy in nerve-root type cervical spondylosis patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome. Methods A total of 85 nerve-root type cervical spondylosis patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome treated in Changzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from November 2020 to April 2021 were selected and divided into control group (42 cases) and observation group (43 cases) according to random number table method. The control group was treated with acupuncture combined with cervical traction, and the observation group was treated with pestle needle therapy combined with cervical traction, with a course of treatment of two weeks. The clinical symptom score, clinical efficacy, and sleep quality between the two groups were compared. Results Two weeks after treatment, the scores of shoulder neck arm pain, neck tenderness, neck mobility, upper limb mobility, limb numbness, tendon reflex, upper limb muscle strength, coping test, brachial plexus traction test, and total scores in two groups were lower than those before treatment, the scores of shoulder neck arm pain, limb numbness, coping test, brachial plexus traction test and total scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Clinical efficacy of the observation group was better than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Two weeks after treatment, sleep quality, sleep latency, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorder, hypnotic drugs, daytime dysfunction scores, and total scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment, sleep efficiency score and total score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Pestle needle therapy can help to improve the clinical symptoms, treatment effect and sleep quality of nerve-root type cervical spondylosis patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome.
