Abstract:Granulomatous mastitis is an increasingly common breast disease in the current society. It is mainly manifested as redness, swelling and heat pain of the breast, followed by abscess and sinus formation after ulcers, long-term failure to heal, during which various immune reactions can be accompanied, which can seriously affect the appearance of the breast. The course of disease is long, and the patient suffers great pain. Clinical and related data show that the incidence of granulomatous mastitis is positively correlated with emotion. Professor Zhang Dongxiao believes that the occurrence of this disease is related to liver qi depression and turning to fire, and offense the spleen and stomach. In traditional Chinese medicine, papilla belongs to liver, breast belongs to stomach, and liver belongs to wood. The liver “likes to be unobstructed and hates depression”. It is the most important organ for regulating emotions in human body, and spleen and stomach is the hub of human qi movement, which belongs to soil and is often restrained by liver’s stagnation. Therefore, Professor Zhang Dongxiao put forward that the basic pathogenesis of this disease is liver fire invading stomach, and the important idea of treating this disease is to sooth liver and clear stomach. This article mainly summarizes the experience of Professor Zhang Dongxiao in treating granulomatous mastitis with the method of soothing liver and clearing stomach, which is introduced from the mechanism of liver fire invading stomach, and attached a test case for clinical reference.
