Abstract:Quanying Fanglun is written by Zheng Duanyou, a Southern Song Dynasty physician, as a monograph on paediatrics, the book is based on a collection of his clinical experience and the doctrines of various schools. Although it is not a monograph on moxibustion, it has a special volume on moxibustion for children. This paper analyzes the points for attention of children moxibustion method, moxibustion points for common diseases, and moxibustion epilepsy in the book. It is found that Quanying Fanglun advocates the same body inches method in the selection of acupoints, and believes that the selection of acupoints should be efficient and accurate. Precautions mainly involved in climate, patient status, time, location, moxibustion amount, and other aspects of avoidance. Among the 29 common diseases applicable to moxibustion method, most of them are liver and gallbladder diseases and heart diseases in internal medicine. The main points selected are conception channel, governor channel, and extra points. The book holds that the key to moxibustion epilepsy lies in deficiency and excess, and summarizes four syndroms of convulsive epilepsy. The moxibustion for children recorded in Quanying Fanglun still has a certain enlightening effect on pediatrics and clinical acupuncture and moxibustion, which has the value of in-depth exploration.
