Clinical observation on the treatment of milk and food stagnation constipation by Chinese medicine umbilical application in children

Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medicine umbilical application on milk and food stagnation constipation children. Methods From December 2018 to March 2021, 120 children with milk and food stagnation constipation admitted to Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected. They were divided into treatment group (60 cases) and control group (60 cases) by random number table method. The treatment group was treated with Chinese medicine umbilical application combined with massage, and control group was treated with massage alone. The clinical efficacy of two groups was compared; the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of two groups were compared before and after treatment; the two groups were followed up one week, two weeks and one month after treatment, and the recurrence and adverse reactions were recorded in both groups. Results After treatment, the total traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of two groups were lower than those before treatment, and treatment group was lower than control group (P<0.05). The traditional Chinese medicine scores of principal syndrome and concurrent syndrome in two groups were lower than those before treatment, and treatment group was lower than control group (P<0.05). The clinical effect of treatment group was better than that of control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in recurrence rate between two groups (P>0.05). There were no obvious adverse reactions in two groups during treatment and follow-up. Conclusion Chinese medicine umbilical application combined with massage has a significant effect on the treatment of children with milk and food stagnation constipation, it is worthy of clinical promotion.
