Visual analysis of traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment of infantile spasms based on VOSviewer and CiteSpace

Abstract:Objective To analyze the current situation and development trend of Chinese and western medicine in the treatment of infantile spasms (IS) in the past 50 years. Methods Relevant literature from January 1975 to June 2022 in CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, and CBM were searched. VOSviewer and CiteSpace were used to draw the author’s cooperation density map, keyword co-occurrence, cluster analysis map, etc., and conduct visual analysis of the author and keyword information. Results A total of 1 767 papers were included, and the number of papers published in this field showed a gradual upward trend. The author with the highest amount of western medicine publications was Zou Liping; Chinese medicine was Liu Jinmin. Western medicine with the largest number of papers was adrenocorticotropic hormone, and the traditional Chinese medicine was Chaibei Zhixian Decoction. Eight cluster labels were formed through visualization software, and the cluster with the highest number of nodes was cerebral palsy. The research was carried out according to the etiology, treatment methods, and Chinese and western medicine, etc. The development trend was analyzed according to the treatment concepts and methods. Conclusion Integrative traditional Chinese and western medicine has a good prospect in treating IS, and precise treatment and the ketogenic diet may become hot spots in the future.
