Abstract:Objective To observe the intervention effect of acceptance and commitment therapy in postoperative patients with glioma. Methods A total of 100 patients with glioma who received craniotomy in the Nanjing First Hospital, Jiangsu Province from January 2017 to January 2021 were selected, and they were divided into observation group and control group, with 50 cases in each group by random number table method. The control group received routine surgical intervention after operation, and the observation group received acceptance and commitment therapy intervention, both groups intervened until patients were discharged. The negative emotions (self-rating anxiety scale [SAS], self-rating depression scale [SDS]), psychological flexibility acceptance, and action questionnaire ([AAQ-Ⅱ] and post-traumatic growth level post-traumatic growth questionnaire [PTGI]) of patients in both groups before intervention and at discharge were assessed, and compared the evaluation results between the two groups. Results The SAS and SDS scores of both groups at discharge were decreased than those before intervention, and the scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The AAQ-Ⅱ score of the two groups was lower than before intervention, and the PTGI score was higher than before intervention, and the observation group was lower than the control group, and the PTGI score was higher, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Acceptance and commitment therapy for intervention in patients after glioma surgery can significantly reduce negative emotion, improve psychological flexibility and is beneficial to improve the level of post-traumatic growth.
