Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of narrative education in the clinical teaching of medical students in optometry. Methods Sixty-one optometry students who practiced in the ophthalmology department of Kunhua Hospital Affiliated to Kunming University of Science and Technology from June 2018 to July 2021 were selected as the research objects. According to the method of random number table, they were divided into control group and observation group. A total of 30 subjects in the control group were given routine education, 31 subjects in the observation group were given narrative education, and both groups were trained for six months. The assessment results and learning satisfaction of the two groups were compared. Results The results of theoretical examination, practical operation and case analysis in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The scores of active initiative, comprehensive ability, and clinical thinking of medical students in observation group were higher than those in control group (P<0.05), the total satisfaction rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Narrative education has a good effect on the clinical teaching of medical students with optometry, which can significantly improve their performance in the examination, and has a significant effect on improving the teaching quality and learning satisfaction of medical students.
