Abstract:Objective To analyze the practice of follow-up nutrition nursing program in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after chemotherapy. Methods A total of 150 patients with NSCLC during chemotherapy treated in Shanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital from March 2019 to February 2021 were selected. According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group, with 75 cases in each group. The control group implemented the routine diet nursing scheme, and the observation group implemented the follow-up nutrition nursing scheme, the nutritional indexes (total protein [TP], albumin [Alb], hemoglobin [Hb]) and anthropometric indexes (body mass index [BMI], middle arm muscle circumference [MAMC], and triceps brachii thickness skin fold [TSF]) were compared between the two groups before and after 12 weeks of nursing, and the degree of adverse reactions to chemotherapy of patients was counted. Results After 12 weeks of nursing, TP, Alb, and Hb in both groups were lower than those before nursing, but the observation group was higher than the control group (P < 0.05); after 12 weeks of nursing, the BMI, MAMC, and TSF of the control group were lower than those before nursing (P < 0.05), there were no significant differences in BMI, MAMC, and TSF between the observation group and the observation group before nursing for 12 weeks (P > 0.05), and the BMI, MAMC and TSF of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05); the adverse reactions of appetite loss, vomiting, and diarrhea in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The follow-up nutrition nursing scheme can significantly improve the nutritional status of NSCLC patients during chemotherapy and reduce the their adverse reactions of chemotherapy.
