Abstract:Animal models of pruritus of skin are origin often used in drug antipruritus experiments. Pruritic substances such as histamine, dextran, and compound 48/80 are often used to induce histamine-dependent acute pruritus models. Atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and other skin inflammatory disease models are also chronic pruritus animal models. This article reviews the research progress of animal model of acute and chronic pruritus of skin origin. It was found that animal strain, pruritus substance type and concentration, and administration method could affect the effect of pruritus behavior in animals. The characteristics and duration of pruritus in different models were different.
