Abstract:Psoriasis vulgaris is called “Baibi” in traditional Chinese medicine. Modern medicine believes that the occurrence and development of psoriasis is related to the abnormal activation of T lymphocytes. Studies have shown that the helper T lymphocyte (Th)1/Th2 balance in patients with psoriasis is shifted toward the differentiation dominance of Th1 cells, and that Th17 cells can induce and exacerbate inflammatory responses in psoriatic lesions through the IL-23/Th17 axis. Studies on the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris by traditional Chinese medicine have found that traditional Chinese medicine decoction, Chinese patent medicine, and external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine such as fire acupuncture therapy and traditional Chinese medicine medicated bath can effectively improve the Th1 drift in patients with psoriasis and inhibit the IL-23/Th17 axis, so as to achieve the purpose of the treatment of psoriasis. Therefore, this paper reviews the literature on the clinical efficacy and mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris, in order to provide more geographical and methodological basis for the clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis vulgaris, and to provide some new ideas and directions for the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris in the future.
