Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture in the treatment of bipolar Ⅱ disorder. Methods A total of 72 patients with bipolar Ⅱ disorder treated in Tangshan Fengrun People’s Hospital of Hebei Province from January 2018 to December 2020 were selected. According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group, with 36 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Paroxetine Hydrochloride + Lithium Carbonate Sustained-Release Tablets, and observation group was treated with acupuncture on the basis of control group. The two groups were treated for eight weeks, and the clinical efficacy was compared between two groups; the scores of Hamilton depression scale (HAMD), Bech-Rafaelsen mania scale (BRMS) and the levels of total bilirubin (TBil), albumin, and uric acid (UA) before and after treatment were compared between two groups. Results The clinical efficacy of observation group was better than that of control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of HAMD and BRMS in two groups were lower than those before treatment, and observation group was lower than control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of TBil and albumin in two groups were higher than those before treatment, and observation group was higher than control group (P < 0.05); the level of UA was lower than that before treatment, and observation group was lower than control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture treatment can effectively improve the mental symptoms of anxiety, mania, and depression in patients with bipolar Ⅱ disorder, and can also improve the sleep quality and life quality of patients, which has clinical significance.
